Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions
Spread mayonnaise and Dijon mustard on the inside of each piece of bread. Butter the top of the bread
Arrange 3 pieces of ham on the bread, then top with 2 slices of provolone, a slice of onion, and arugula
Hold the sandwich together and carefully place it so the buttered top is facing down on the waffle iron
Cook and compress the sandwich until the outside is a crispy and golden brown, approximately 5 minutes
Remove and rest for 2 to 3 minutes. Cut in half and enjoy
