Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cut bread into 1-inch cubes and add to a large bowl
Add the bread to the food processor along with the eggs, cream cheese, milk, horseradish, salt, and pepper. Pulse until smooth
Place the asparagus and cubed ham into individual bowls
In a separate bowl, add the Gouda cheese and 1/4 cup chives and toss to combine
Grate parmesan cheese into a small dish
Grease a 9 x 13 casserole dish or spray with nonstick cooking spray
Add 1/2 of the bread cubes to the prepared baking dish along with 1/2 of the egg mixture, 1/2 of the cheese and chives mixture, 1/2 of the asparagus, and 1/2 of the cubed ham
Press down on the layers slightly with a spatula. Repeat Step 7, with the remaining ingredients. Sprinkle parmesan cheese evenly over the top and dust with paprika
Cover the baking dish and set aside for 20 minutes
Bake strata for 40 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes until the strata is golden brown and crisp on top.
Let cool for 10 minutes. Garnish with chives and serve
