Baking Mix

Baking Powder
1 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon
1 cup
Whole Milk
1 cup
1 1/4 cups
Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
1 1/4 cups
1/4 cup
Scallions, Sliced
1/4 cup
2 tablespoons
Unsalted Butter, Melted
2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon
Fresh Chives, Sliced
1 tablespoon

Directions


  1. Preheat the oven to 450ºF.

  2. Heat a heavy-bottomed sauté pan over medium heat and render the bacon until crispy.

  3. Drain the bacon on paper towels, reserving the fat for a later use.

  4. In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the baking mix, baking powder, and garlic powder.

  5. In a separate bowl, combine the bacon, milk, cheese, and scallions.

  6. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir gently to combine, just until a sticky dough is formed, taking care to not overmix.

  7. Using a small ice cream scoop, scoop the dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each of the biscuits.

  8. Bake until golden brown, remove from the oven, and brush with the melted butter.

  9. Serve warm.
