Ingredients

Maple Bacon Coffee Cake

1/2 cup Salted butter
 
3/4 cup Sugar
 
2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
 
2 Eggs
 
2 cups All-purpose flour
 
1/2 teaspoon Salt, ½ Teaspoon
 
1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
 
1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
 
3/4 cup Buttermilk

Crumble

 
3-5 slices Farmland Premium Maple Thick Cut Bacon
 
1/4 cup Salted butter, melted
 
3/4 cup All-purpose flour
 
1/2 cup Brown sugar
 
1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon

Maple Drizzle

 
1 cup Powdered sugar
 
1/2 cup Brewed coffee
 
1 tablespoon Salted butter, melted
 
1 teaspoon Maple extract

Directions
1Preheat the oven to 350°F
2Cream together butter, sugar, vanilla, and eggs with an electric mixer
3In a separate bowl, sift flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda
4Put half of the flour mixture into the butter and stir
5Pour the buttermilk into the batter and mix for about one minute, then add the rest of the flour mixture
6Mix until all ingredients are combined, making sure to clean down the sides of the bowl with a spatula
7Pour into a well-oiled 9-inch pan
8To prepare the crumble, melt butter then add the flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon
9Mix with your hands until it forms a crumble
10Sprinkle on top of the coffee cake and place in the oven
11Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean in the center
12While the cake bakes, cut the slices of bacon into ½-inch pieces and cook in a small pan over medium heat until the slices are cooked evenly. Place bacon on a paper towel and set aside for garnish
13To prepare the drizzle, combine the powdered sugar, brewed coffee, melted butter and maple extract together and set aside
14Once the cake has cooled, place a plate over the cake pan and flip it, removing the cake from the pan. Take another plate and flip the cake back to its upright position with the crumble on top
15Place bacon pieces on top of the cake and generously drizzle maple icing on top
